LAVENDER FIELDS

And here we are to continue our trip to Provence. The main mission of our first day was finding the huge lavender fields so common in Provence (hmmm, not so much!). in july I’ve started to seen so many photos of lavander fields on instagram that I thought was really absurd we never went there since it’s not so far from Sanremo, the city where we spend most of our summer days.

Find thelavenderwas my mission!

We leaved Sanremo for Provence in at early morning, the aim of the day was to find the lavender and arrive on time in Avignon, before diying of tiredness.
Our trip was super last-minute and often happened to us to have no idea where to sleep the day before we got in the place.
To find the lavender I downloaded a map from the internet, but oh, I do not recommend it at all, because my map was a giant purple stain which started from Grasse and came up in Aix en Provence, when in fact we found lavender only around Valensole, and that explains the reason why all people are going there.
Once in Valensole
after we stopped along the road in some small cute cities as Castellaine and Gourdon (in the next post) and for some shots in the middle of sunflowers (here), we finally found the lavender fields ALMOST ALL CUTTED. But we decided not to give up continuing to hope for some last meter of field flowers and then we found it, the smell was intense and the
landscape magnificent though the lavender was practically all faded and a bit dry.
ps: go there in mid-July!
I wanted to create some contrast with the background of lavender Valensole opting for a dress in light chiffon and yellow lace.
It’s one of those dresses perfect for the summer, light and sunny, wearing which really puts you in a good mood. And you can buy it here for less than $ 15!
