CREATE YOUR PERFECT OFFICE AT HOME

Believe it or not guys, but I never had my own desk. Even during the school or university I never wanted one, just never felt the necessity to have my own place where to put all my books, my computer and me. My life during the student season was all about sofa, coach, bed and library of the city ( where I actually studied on the desk!), I prefered to not to seat but always moving from a place to another.

Now, with the arriving of the blog, my home become my office and having the stuff not organized in one place really started to stress me and so a few days ago I’ve decided that the time to have my own place finally arrived.

I’ve started to think that having my own desk could really make a difference in my blogger life! And being honest, I really needed to be more organized and have this cute little corner just for myself and my stuff, a place where I can put my moodboard, my compiuter, candles and flowers and spent there a half of my day in peace.

But when I’ve started to plan to create this place, so many doubts cames to my mind, about the desk, the seat, the mood of the place and everything. I was so confused, that I really needed some inspiration, some exemples to look which helps me to create that place, inspiring and in harmony, where I’ve really enjoy to spent so much time a day. And in this moment that Pinterest cames in my help! I’ve started to collect some images of the most inspiring and cool office places!

FIRST I’ve decided the color palette of the place, which for me went to a mix of white, wood, black, gold and green. After that I’ve started to think about everything else, from table to seat, details ecc.

In this post you will find a little step to step guide of how to create your office at home, the details you have to pay attention on and some cool DIY projects, oh, and of course, photos to be inspired! So click on the READ MORE and stay with me!

DESK – this is the thing from where to start. The shape, the color, it’s all about what would you like! There are some really cool vintage desks or you can choose for more modern style, and that what I’ve decided for. I’ve made it by my own at Ikea, cause beside all the pre-made stuff, you can get a little more creative and choose the table top, the size of it and the legs. I’ve didn’t know about it, but thanks to the girl behind Petete Modern Life, I’ve discovered this option and that what worked better for the idea of the desk I had in my mind, here you can read the article.
If you already have a desk at home, you can use this DIY idea and in a few simple steps change the look of your old desk.

SEAT – important as well! Here your little butt will spend so much time, so it’s really important to find a comfortable seat but also great looking. There is a really big selection, from simple chairs in plastic or wood, there are armchiars and the office chairs ( not so cute, hmmm).  You can make it more cozy with a sheep skin or using a pillow.

THE WALL – there are so many ideas how to create the atmosphere around you, keep it clean and simple or put around everything what inspires you as for exemple a moodboard, shelves fulled with your favorite books, photos or a world map.

ORGANIZE YOUR DESK – I really love to keep it simple but I have a few favorites that I simply can’t renounce as calendar, candles, plants and table lamp.
If you are looking for a cute calendar there are so many cute ones on etsy but at this moment of the year, it’s really easy to find a free printable one, here are some options ( with water color illustration of Oana Befort | minimal in B&W | also for the desktop ).

Hope you loved this post and hope it’s inspired you for your future desk! Under the post you will find some cute stationery, and really soon I will show you how my desk looks like!
