LAVENDER FIELDS IN ITALY! WHERE TO FIND THEM?

You guys probably know how much I love Italy and how lucky I feel to live in such a wonderful country. Said that I have to point that I love the whole Italy not only the most famous places, that easy to say that you love Rome, Tuscany, Milano or Sardegna.

Every corner of this country should be explored, and I hope with my travels around Italy to inspire you not to stop only on the most famous places and but open horizons also to the regions and city less famous.

I live in the North region called Piedmont, and it’s one of the most beautiful in Italy ( ok, that’s a personal opinion, but trust me, it’s stunning!). We love to drive around our city for a day road trip and this time we decided to come back to Langhe, the are of Piedmont with beautiful vineyards-covered hills.

And yes, Italy does have her own Lavender fields! Just a week ago we discovered that there this little city next to Barolo, called Sale San Giovanni, there people grow and harvest different medicinal herbs and lavender as well!

The view is just incredible from the fields, opening on the vineyards valley.

I was a couple of times in Valensole, Provence, hunting for lavender fields, but trust me those are even more beautiful.

They just starting to bloom now, I went a little bit in advance so you guys have two weeks to organize your trip and arrive to the most beautiful period with all hills covered by lavender blooms.

Pay a visit to the city of Sale San Giovanni, it’s such a little treasure with beautiful churches and small store selling herbs and all the local products as soaps, teas, oils with lavender.

Also in Church you can have a free copy of the walk you can do to lavender fields, but it’s up and down and 7km long, so get ready with comfy shoes and water. Otherwise you can drive directly to the fields!
